Sage's Oasis

Sage tidied up the house and got the last minute things done. She made sure that there were plenty of drinks out (both for humans and vamps) in the coolers on the back porch, and plenty of food around the kitchen and porch.

She sat down and looked around, wondering who would show. She was kind of excited about the whole thing - it had been too long since she was around lots of people.

Despite the fact she had started on the beach, she had soon progressed to the woods, and uphill from there. By the time the pads of her feet were starting to want to kill her, Corey found herself in front of a log cabin.

She was a little surprised, not having known they still existed in the area. She wondered if they had bought or built it. Either way, it brought a smile to her face.

Sage walked out onto the porch and started lighting candles when she saw a figure in the woods. Hello?

Tilting her head minutely at the sight of a woman lighting candles out on the porch, she did not react immediately to the call. Instead she brushed some of the dirt off her feet and removed a thorn from the skin before looking back up to her.

"Good afternoon."

Yes it is... Sage was Sage and waved up the young girl. Come on up and get something to eat. She was open to whoever showed up.

Corey frowned slightly in confusion.

"Is this an open house?"

One couldn't be too careful out in the middle of the woods...

Sage could understand the hesitation. Well, yeah - kinda - you just happen to be the first guest. I felt the need for a get-together and I'm just waiting for people to show.

She wouldn't hurt a fly, well a spider maybe, but Sage was open to anyone who came across her path.

Corey shrugged and decided what the heck.

"Works for me. I'm not expected back for a while anyway."

Making sure to offer the woman her clean hand, she gave her a brief smile, "I'm called Indigo."

Sage smiled and accepted the offered hand. Indigo - that is a beautiful name. I'm Sage, welcome to my little cabin in the woods.

"Come into my lair," Corey murmured quietly before releasing the woman's hand. "Thank you, I was rather fond of it when I chose the name myself."

"So.. any particular reason for all this?"

Blaze walked into the kitchen when he heard the quiet 'come into my lair'. Instantly he perked up wondering if it was an old friend and by habit, the verse came out.

Oh no, no, said the Fly, to ask me is in vain... He grabbed a beer on his way out to the porch to see who was there.

Corey glanced towards the door, hearing a response she had honestly not expected. Seeing the blonde man, her eyes widened.

"No way..."

Stepping back a few feet, Corey formed a frame with her thumbs and two pointer fingers and aimed it at the cabin.

"You're her Spider?" The question came out incredulously, before she could even think about stopping it.

Blaze grinned to the girls actions, his grin turning to a smile. And the Fly you would be talking about? He cocked his eyebrow and thought a moment... Or would it be Wolverine or Gambit?

Corey laughed a little, dropping her hands as she grinned up to the guy.

"Maddie Jones. She's shot for me before."

Oh really? Wow what a small world. He hadn't seen Maddie in like what seemed like an eternity?

Oh you were her photographer? Blaze glanced to Sage who was intently watching the exchange.

"More like, I've worked with her. I was helping her work on her own photography as well."

Corey barely got the words out before a younger voice made itself known.

"Indigo!"

A small blur had the previously well composed woman on the ground, tackled and perched on top of her, Maddie pushed her hair back before looking around and squeaking.



A moment later and she was running again, this time barreling towards Blaze who she immediately wrapped in a hug.

"I missed you!"

Before Blaze could even react he 'umphed' as Maddie tried to tackle him - he managed to scoop her up into a spinning hug. Maddie! I've missed you too! He placed her back on the ground and grinned to her.

Corey just shook her head a little with a dry smile. She glanced towards Sage and gave her a 'what can you do' look.

"Should've guessed the little bug decided to follow me," she said amiably.



"Someone has to keep you in line," Maddie retorted briefly. She grinned to Blaze, not letting go of him once he set her to the ground, almost as if she thought he would disappear if she did.

Sage just shrugged in agreement. Giggling she grabbed a couple of waters just in case if anyone wanted something.


Blaze kept his arm on Maddie's shoulder, grinning that she 'followed' the new girl. So what have you been up too?

Maddie jerked her finger towards the other woman.

"Tailing her when she goes scouting. Its fun."

Corey raised an eyebrow at that.

"Just so long as you know when a shut door needs to stay shut."

Maddie snorted at that. "Blaze, tell her I know how to stay out if I need to?"

Blaze listened to the exchange and laughed. If you need too? Yeah, okay. Reaching forward, he grabbed a water and twisted off the top, taking a deep drink. If the door's shut, she usually knocks.

"Close enough," Maddie shrugged.

Corey just shook her head.

"Who all is coming to this shin dig?"

Marina noticed the open door and decided to just walk inside. She knew Sage would not mind. In her hands, she cradled a covered platter. She loved to bake, so bringing something was only natural. This time it was cookies. Half were plain sugar, while the other half were red velvet.

Glancing around, she took in the small group and waved. "I brought cookies." She held up the platter slightly, knowing the greeting was random. But random fit Marina.

Blaze looked to Sage with a 'yeah, who's coming' look.


Sage smiled and thought for a moment. As far as I know, Marina, Lyna, Anthony, maybe M - but she's away - Bryn... and I have no idea who else.

And speak of the devil. Oooh, cookies. Thank, Marina. Sage walked over to her and gave her a hug. It's good to see you.
