The Estate

Pleasure's all mine, Miles. She waved to him as he left and clicked her teeth after he was gone before grinning to Marina And where did you find that one?

Marina noticed M's look at what Miles said. She would explain it to her friend. When he gave her his number, she slipped the paper into her pocket. "Goodnight."

Looking to M, she nodded. "Of course you can stay." She paused for a moment. "I met him in the woods. And the whole kitty box thing... he's a... well, I don't know. Like a werewolve, but a cat."

M moved from the counter to the couch as she entertained images of what kind of cat he was. A werecat, huh? Interesting. Thank you for letting me stay, I appreciate it.

"M, this was your home before it was mine. So of course I'm letting you stay."

M smiled through the tears that had sprung up. It hasn't felt much like home for me lately. I've just been out of it. Shaking herself out of her mood, she looked around. How about a movie?

"Sorry." The word was spoken softly as Marina enveloped M in another hug. She stepped back after a moment. "Sounds good to me."

M smiled at the prospect of a girls night. "Something hard core action or gushy romantic?" Grabbing up a few things, M headed towards the spare room - she didn't want to fall asleep in the entertainment room...again.

"I hope you don't mind - it's a king size bed... plenty o' room."

"I don't mind." Marina considered the options. "Action sounds better right now."

Crawling up on the bed, M laid out some of the food she had gotten from the kitchen. "Action, alrighty - let's see what's on."

Flipping on the satellite, M rested against the headboard and perused through the stations. "Ohh, how about 'Inception'?" She glanced at Marina and smiled.

Marina smiled back. "Sounds good. I have been wanting to see that one."

M patted the bed next to her. "Come on in, there's plenty of room. I'm not a big fan of Leonardo, but the premise looks good." She thought maybe she should get changed, but decided against it for the moment.

Marina sat down on the bed, making herself comfortable as she sat against the headboard. "I like Leo." She paused then smiled before speaking. "Okay, I probably really just like Titanic. Who knows?" She shrugged.

M grinned a bit. "You know, I've never seen Titanic. I don't know if I want to either... I mean we all knows what happens." Snuggling a bit further down into the bed, M left the large bowl of popcorn between them.

"Well I love it." Marina smiled. Reaching over, she picked up a few pieces of popcorn.

"Hmmm, maybe I'll watch it one day. I really do like Kate Winslet." M took a sip of her drink and settled in for the movie before speaking up again. "So would you like to do a girls day out or something soon?"

"You'll like it." Marina smiled. "A girls day out would be fun. I don't have enough of those."

M snuggled down a little and nodded in agreement. She got caught up in the movie for a few minutes before she looked over to Marina. "What would you like to do then? Maybe a spa day or something?"

"Spa sounds nice. And relaxing. I haven't gone for anything resembling a spa day in awhile."

"Then it's a date." M smiled to Marina before grabbing up a drink and taking a sip. "I went to a new place up in the hills, kinda near Sage's - it was pretty nice. Maybe we can try there."

"Sounds good." Marina smiled over at M before looking toward the movie.

They fell into silence as the movie played. "How's things going at the gallery?" M munched absently minded on a couple kernels of pop corn.

"Good. Things are good. I'm not quite as involved as I used to be. But it is nice to not spend the majority of my day alone in the gallery."

"I'm glad to hear things are going well. I also hear that Blaze has been out with Lyna a few times. I'm happy for them both." She glanced over to Marina and smiled. "I know for he was miserable for awhile after Sher left. Hopefully things work out between him and Lyna."

"Yea, I heard that too. I hope so too. Maybe he can break her out of her shell a little. She's more shy than I am."

"Blaze has a way of making people come out of their shells. He seems to be at ease with everyone. " M had become fond of Blaze since meeting him, he actually was a sweet guy.

She glanced to the TV to see the credits rolling. "Movies over already? Want to watch another one or do something else?" She was game for anything at this point.
