The Estate

Out of comfort, M curled into Emmett's side. It felt right. She watched Anthony knowing that he was doing his best to be, well on his best behavior.

She was pretty sure of the answer of the question that she was going to ask, but she had to ask anyway.

"Either one of you know what I would be kidnapped because of a human (yeah, she knew it was weird wording it that way) named Rose?"

A small shiver wracked her frame, M pulled the blanket down around her.

(Due to the circumstance of Rose/Rachel not being available I can change the name to fit the storyline. Just let me know and I can tweak what needs to be tweaked.)

When M curled toward him, Emmett wrapped his arm around her. As she spoke, the surprise was clear. "You were what?!" There was anger there too. Though it stayed out of his voice, only visible in his eyes. The emotion was not directed at M, but at whoever had done this.

After it dawned on him that she had asked him a question (he had focused solely on the word 'kidnap'), he spoke out. "No... Rabbit, what happened?" He was dangerous when angry, so effort went into keeping some appearance of calm.

((Its up to you. It can be left as is or changed. If you want a random name, one of your characters, or even one of mine, I would be okay with it.))

In a momentary vamp reaction, Anthony lurched forward to comfort M but she was already curled into Emmett's side - and he didn't fault either of them for that. He understood that.

Instead he moved over to sit on the edge of the couch, just within reach of M. He hoped that Emmett understood - Anthony couldn't not be there. He saw Emmett's vampire reaction to her statement and he protectively shot a warning look to Emmett, even though he was certain to the core that Emmett wouldn't take it out on his Morawena. He just hoped that Morawena hadn't seen it.

"Frog - are you sure it was about Rose?"

Emmett gave a slight nod of his head after Anthony's warning glance. He would never hurt M, under any circumstances. But he understood Anthony's protectiveness.

Rose watched the couple walk towards the kitchen and decided they may need space. Judging by the scene outside and the tension in the air, Rose walked to the room she was shown earlier.
The feeling of being an outsider crept up as Rose unpacked.

Marina watched Rose retreat toward the guest room. Edward had already left them alone. After a moment, she decided to see if Rose wanted company or wished to settle in alone. So she walked down the hall and quietly knocked on the door.

((I'm not quite sure where we are. Edward left and Kale was banging on the door. I did write Marina answering the door earlier.))

M looked between the two and shook her head. It was amazing what she picked up being around vamps most of the time. The minute motions of vamps had become second nature to her - but she didn't let on even though she was quite sure they both knew she could read them.

"I really do think it was about Rose, but now I'm not so sure." In a nervous reaction, Morawena pushed a handful of hair out of her face.

Standing as quickly as she could, M paced the small distance in front of the fireplace at the cottage. If there was one thing that was certain - she knew Rose's name was mentioned. "Yes, yes it was Rose."

She stopped pacing long enough to look at the two of them and asked a pretty silly question. "Is there really a dumb enough vamp out there to leave silver within striking distance of themselves?" Maybe that would take her mind off of why she seemed to be a target for something.

Emmett swore he heard something about Rose when he passed by the house. He watched M pace. Her movements seemed to help her.

He shrugged slightly. "Being a vampire does not increase smarts."

(Playing both M and A in M's name - to lazy to switch accounts tonight.)

She turned to Emmett and couldn't help but laugh. He always had a way with words. "Guess if you're dumb as a stump as a human, the mental ability doesn't change." M walked over to him and rubbed his cheek with the back of her fingers. He was her strength.

Pausing for a moment, she turned to Anthony when he not so nonchalantly cleared his throat. "What's up, young man?"

Rubbing his chin, Anthony glanced out the window towards the house before returning his attention back to M and Emmett.

"I was with Kale earlier, well, that's how I got here... There was some strange shit going on at her house. A couple of newbie vamps were sent after her and we burnt one to a crisp while we scared the fangs off the other - he went running back to wherever it was he came from. Then... I got this eff'd up feeling that something bad was happening to you and we came over here as quick as his P.O.S. Suburban would move." Anthony ran his hand through his hair before moving himself over to the window to look up towards the main house.

Emmett smiled at M. Even with all that was happening to her, she could still laugh. His attention shifted to Anthony, deciding what he heard earlier was worth mentioning. "I think Rose is up at the house. There is an extra heartbeat and someone said that name."

He had paid too much attention to M while passing the main house to know for sure.

( marina, not quite sure where the girls left off but lets just say they managed their way to the kitchen and chitchated. )

Rose smiled at Marina, allowing the cloud of doom and floom above her head to disappear. Her confidence restored Rose asked an obvious question.
" what is going on? There are vampires everywhere and I can't get a hold of Kale."

At the moment Kale stolled into into the kitchen with the cheesiest, i-swear-I-didnt-do-it grin.
" Rose what a surprise to see you hear " he spoke calmly, glancing over at the woman next to her.

Marina shrugged. "There are always vampires everywhere."

Anthony stopped for a second and honed into the rhythmic hear beats that were coming from the main house. "Yup, pretty sure there's more than the norm up there."

And that made sense, really. Kale seemed to have that same sense with his sister that Anthony did with Morawena.

"I wonder who Rose or Kale pissed off enough for you to be kidnapped? How about we go find out, like now."
And with that A' was at the front door with his hand on the knob waiting for the slow poke human and her protector.

(he means the slow poke human and her protector in the best loving way possible.)

Emmett walked over to wrap one arm around M so they could follow Anthony up to the house.

M shook her head at Anthony as Emmett wrapped his arm around her. There was no other comfort that she felt being protected by her Bear.

"My sweet Antony, why are you waiting... You know you wanna go. I'll be just fine." With her human might, she squeezed Emmett as she watched Anthony dash out the door without a second's hesitation.

She looked up to Emmett and feigned a smile. "Bear... I'm scared."

"I won't let anything happen to you, Rabbit." And Emmett meant it. He gave her a reassuring squeeze, as gently as he could before walking with her up to the house.

(K, tag teaming again - Anthony will be first then M...)

Anthony had already acknowledged Marina, Edward and Kale's sister Rose. Now he just waited for his M&M and Emmett to come thru the door. And in that instant, they did.

M clung tight to Em as they walked into the house. Anthony, 'Rina and Edward were there along with a scared Rose and an unfamiliar entity standing in the kitchen. She nodded when Anthony stated that the newcomer was Roses' brother, Kale.

"Kale..." Morawena just couldn't help herself, it came flying out of her mouth before she had a stop it; "Why the fuck would I be kidnapped because of Rose?"

And with that, she slumped into the chair closest to her.

Edward had ventured back downstairs after hearing the thoughts coming from his brother, M, and Anthony. Not to mention, Kale's entrance. He did not say much, trying silently to sort out what was going on while waiting for the trio he knew was coming.

Emmett walked inside the house with M, holding her close with one arm. He was just as confused about the situation as his brother appeared to be. He wanted answers.

Edward stayed close to Marina; while Emmett remained near M, standing next to the chair she was in. After her question hung in the air, all attention seemed to shift to Kale.

Marina was confused to say the least. First Kale pounding on the door, then Edward quietly appearing (though that was not so much out of the norm. Next M, Emmett, and Anthony coming in; and M's question. Needless to say, she stood almost in shock.

If Rose was confused before, she was even more so as Morawena was escorted in. With a thousand questions burning the tip of her tongue, Rose stood with intend to find out what was going on when Morawena spoke first.

"Kale..." She pauses.
"Why the fuck would I be kidnapped because of Rose?"

Suddenly the color faded from her face as those words echoed in her head. As if it were a foreign language her brain couldn't translate. Only when understanding kicked in, did her color and anger flush her face.
Her eyes shot darts at Kale while everyone and Rose herself waited for an explanation.

" Well Kale? Why was she kidnapped because of me" Her voice felt faint at the last word.

Kale took one look at the red headed woman and then to Anthony. He hardly had to read between the lines to understand their link. In fact the tension in the room seemed to weigh Kale down as everyone looked his way
Taking a very human moment, Kale sighed as he sat down and rubbed his forehead in frustration.

" I don't even know where to start. "

As if on cue Rose walked towards him not only with questioning eyes but if the stern look on her face and her lips drawn tight were a clue she was livid.

" Crap." Was all Kale said next as he felt the unfamiliar sensation of fear.

(A' and M' are working it in one post tonight...lol)

Anthony watched quietly (for a change) as things transpired.

"Hey Kale... here's an idea. Start at the effing beginning." The sarcasm was thick, and he was quite sure that everyone in the room felt it.

He stewed a bit before letting it go and moved to stand next to Morawena, just waiting patiently, okay not so much, as he waited for Kale's reply.

M just listened and scanned the room as people talked the talk. As if she could really get any closer to Emmett, she tried to. She had now comfortably wedged herself in between Em and A' waiting for Kale to answer.

She could only cock her eyebrow as a weird defense mechanism. M looked to Edward and couldn't hep but smile. He was doing his best to stay out of people's heads and so far it seemed to be working - at least in own mind. There was no prickliness happening to the hairs on the back of her neck.

"I'm sorry to bring this to the house, I..I...just feel safe here."

Since things had seemed to come to a screeching halt, M though (and quite loudly) that she needed space - there were no answers here so she would just remove herself from the space and figure it out on her own.

"Bear, A' I'm out...even though I feel safe here - I just can't be... here."
Turning her full attention to Emmett, she smiled and touched his chin.

"Give me 20 minutes...then you can track me down with your skillz". She leaned into him and kissed his lips before she moved onto Anthony and flicked his ear.

Then with her human might, M walked out the back door and into the dark night.

Marina wanted to go comfort her friend, though she knew better. M needed space. She felt Edward inch her slightly closer.

Emmett wanted to immediately follow M, but held himself back. He knew Edward would let him know if she was in danger.

He looked toward Kale, his expression demanding an explanation.

Edward could hear the warring thoughts, from the entire room. He held Marina a tad closer even though he knew she was not going to leave. He planned to keep tabs on Morawena until Emmett caught up with her.
