The Woods

"Okay." Marina nodded. As they walked along, she watched both the sand and the water washing upon it.

Fyn's mind fell into the sounds of the ocean - to him that was something that was something that would never grow old. How I miss the days of the English seaside. It is a bit different than here - even in this day and age.

"I have never been out of the country. But I imagine England is beautiful. Especially back then." Marina smiled a bit. "I think everyone misses the place where they spent most of their life. I know I'm young, by any standard, but I do miss watching lily pads. Now I watch waves."

Fyn smiled to Marina, he could just picture her watching the lily pads floating around. Have you ever thought about going back home for a visit?

"I went back home for Thanksgiving last year." Marina was aware that had been months ago. "I will go back sometime this year."

It's always good to go back to your roots every once in awhile. The day was getting warm do Fyn headed up towards the shade - that would help for a bit.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Marina questioned softly with concern in her voice.

Bowing his head, Fyn smiled to Marina, he could hear the concern in her voice. I haven't melted yet, so I'm good. Probably about another half hour I'll have to be heading for cover though.

Marina nodded. "Can you tell yet, if we're headed in the right direction?"

Fyn looked around and inhaled. Oh, I believe we are. He pointed up the beach, he could see the outlines of Marina's home - he wasn't sure that she could though. Your house is that way a bit. He smiled down to her and patted her forearm lightly.

Marina could not see the house, but she believed Fyn. He could see infinitely better than her, after all. "I highly doubt there's anything in the house to offer you to drink, but you should come inside away from the Sun before you leave."

Walking a bit further the house finally came into sight. How very kind of you, Marina. Maybe I will stay for just a bit. And I'll be quite alright till I get to the pub to eat.

Marina smiled, glad that he agreed. She couldn't very well let him go right back into the sunlight.

Luke walked around the woods. Daylight was still showing but barely. He might want to head home-where ever that was before dark fell. Creatures lurking in the dark love to hunt those who seem helpless.

Miles found the trial where he first met Marina easily, perhaps she'd be away from her caslte again this evening Miles thought. He began to stroll at first, letting his mind wander. When he thoughts became infected with Alec, his pace began to quicken. Soon the stroll became a jog which than became a run.

Marina sat a few feet off the ground on a tree branch with her sketch pad in hand. She had not ventured far from her home. Maybe a minute or two of walking. Far enough that all she saw was forest. But close enough that she could easily get home.

She sketched the scene from her angled view out on the paper with a piece of charcoal.

As Miles slowed down from his jog he noticed a pair of legs hanging from a tree up ahead. He approached quiet as a cat, and the closer he got the more familiar the scent became.
" Well, well who we have here? "

"Artist sketching in a tree." Marina smiled down at him.

" Or a princess away from her castle. " Miles laughed. It was nice to smile every once in awhile he thought, especially when his thought were so gloom lately.
" And what has the princess out and about for? A treasure hunt? A search for her prince? Running from a dragon perhaps.?"

Marina laughed. "I highly doubt I'm a princess." Though the fact he wasn't the only one to say that made her laugh again. "I have a prince. No dragons lately. But perhaps treasure." She held up her sketch pad. "Capturing the beauty of the trees."

Looking up towards her Miles replied " I see the beauty in the tree alright. " He took her pad a moment later to examine the picture. " And I see she isn't the only pretty thing around, this is beautiful."

Marina smiled. "Flattery, huh?" She paused for a moment. "Thank you."

" We all need it sometime don't you think? " Miles leaned against the tree sitting. " And your prince let you here all alone for the critters to get at now did he? "

"He's at home. Close enough if something were to happen. Plus I seem to do well enough on my own, most of the time."
