Arlen Cemetery Empty Re: Arlen Cemetery

Post  MacKenzie Sat Jun 04, 2011 10:13 am

Mac walked through the older section of the cemetery, sometimes his job led him to places like this. Finding every branch of a person's lineage was time consuming and very interesting as well. He had just started taking on human clients, and while he didn't like it, it was easy. At least human genealogy seemed to have a had an ending - Vamps sometimes went back thousands and thousands of years.

Coming up to a worn headstone, Mac crouched in front of it. He knew to the naked human eye, the name was not legible but with his Vamp sight, he could make out the name and dates of Thomas McCardy - great-great grandfather to his current client.

Sinsa wandered into the cemetery, glad to finally be away from the judgmental people who hated her.
Ever since turning into a vampire seven years ago, she had been alone and lost, ignorant to the ways of the vampire and what was wrong and right.

She trailed her thin fingers along the tops of the graves, only really paying partial attention to her surroundings. Her black hair swept in front of her face with the breeze, her golden eyes blank as she wandered in her mind.

Being a vampire, she had to drink blood.
But being a stubborn young woman, she refused to until she absolutely had to.

She looked only sixteen, but was actually twenty-two.

She was on the far right of the cemetery's grounds, not wanting to bother or be bothered.

Mac glanced up when he caught the scent of another vampire - a young one to him. He stood up from his crouching position and tucked the pen and paper in his back pocket. He watched her for a few moments, it seemed as though she didn't want to be bothered, but he also didn't want to 'startle' her, he was pretty sure that she knew she was not alone.

He leaned on the ten foot headstone that was to his left and pulled out his paper and pen again. He went to task of writing down some notes and things he needed to do, but he was open to interruption if the woman chose to do so.

Sinsa glanced over at the man, the vampire, and slightly narrowed her eyes. Her eyes were tinged red from lack of blood, but to a human's sight, he would only think she was tired.
To a vampire, her lack of blood would be very obvious.

After a few seconds of watching the man, she turned her head away and continued walking, now away from the man.

Mac had been around long enough to know a young and brooding vampire when he saw one. He watched her turn away from him so he let her be. Maybe one day they would meet again.

Moving a few rows over, Mac looked at the headstones knowing that he got all of the information that he was going to from this cemetery.

Rose chatted a bit with Marina as they arrived at the graveyard. Rose discussed briefly that they were indeed visiting her lost mother. She didn't get into much detail about how her mother passed only that she was young when it happened.
There was another visitor today, and tall man with short either dark brown or natural black hair. He was glancing in front a marker, presumably mourning. As the girl passed him to get to Rose's mother, her should brushed into the gentleman, and the coffee she carried
" O-oh I'm soo sorry for that!. "

Marina followed quietly along behind Rose until the latter stopped after bumping into the man.

(Thanks, Marina - Mac hadn't been around long over there, he only knew a few girls. lol)

Mac hand just put his pen and paper into the breast pocket of his jacket when he felt the light bump of a human girl - well human and something else. He turned to look at both girls and gave them a warm, welcoming smile. "Ay, it's alright, Lass." He straightened his jacket a bit - he was in the presence of ladies after all - he then slid his hands into the front pockets of his jeans. "Are ya sure you're in the right section of the cemetery? These are some really old heads stones."

Rose felt embarrassed as a slight pink blush covered her cheeks.
" Yes my uh mother wanted to be buried with her family. " She spoke with a monotone voice.
Speaking of voices, his accent was to die for. Rose laughed at her silly nature but that laughter soon died when she looked at the markers their company had been observing. The dates were indeed old. A suspicion itched but Rose didn't think much into it.
" Indeed these are quite old."

Marina stayed quiet, being the wallflower. Well, in this case, the quiet observer. Her head tilted slightly when she connected the dots. His accent plus the dates on the headstones suggested vampire. A person learned to spot the difference on occasion. Especially when one spent a large amount of time around vampires. In her case, living with three of them.

A small smile twitched at the corner of Mac's mouth as he watched the girls. The darker haired girl smelled of several Vampires, and the lighter haired one, the smell wasn't as strong but it was there. He was quite sure that one knew what he was and the other one wasn't so sure.

"Excuse my rudeness, Lass'..." He reached for the quiet one's hand first and placed it to his lips, kissing it lightly before moving on to the second girl. "...It's a pleasure to meet you. I am mac McLeod." He took a small step back and bowed slightly. Even though he had been a Vampire over six hundred years, his manners ran deep. Righting himself, Mac smiled to the duo.

Once again at his old fashion manners Rose felt a light blush cover her cheeks. Yet it reminded her of someone.
" Why thank you! " Placing one hand on the strap to her purse and the other resting at her side Rose introduced both herself and Marina.
" I'm so sorry for interrupting your uh mourning. " Rose spoke as her phone vibrated. Normally she would let it go, but since it was Kale she had to read it immediately. What she read disturbed her greatly.
Kale told her it was not safe to go home, and she needed to find a safe place and lay low for sometime.
" Oh "

Marina smiled. The kissing of her hand and bow sealed it for her. He was a vampire. "Its nice to meet you too." He seemed nice and relatively harmless. Harmless in the sense that he wouldn't harm, not that he couldn't.

Rose's expression and her small comment made Marina curious. "Is everything okay?"

" Hrm, yeah" Rose's voice was not reassuring. " Just my brother, you know."

Quickly Rose put her phone and the message warning her to be-careful away. As she was hoping her company did not see it.

" Apparently my house is infested! Just my luck. "

Rose's voice was a fake cheer as she attempted to cover the real concern. Kale's warning specified a group of rogue and dangerous vampires could be in the area. With frigidity movements Rose scanned her surroundings with the method Kale taught her, to look for shifts in shadows and area that seem too dark. Rose was slightly less worried when she did not spot anything, but being in a graveyard as well as an open space felt way too uncomfortable for her liking.

Marina did not completely buy Rose's cheerful response. However, she did not pry or call her on it. "Do you need somewhere to stay while its being cleared out?" Even though she didn't think infested was what was wrong, she still offered. Couldn't hurt.

Rose felt a tang of guilt for her white lie but she had too.
At Marina's kind jester Rose snapped out of her thoughts

" Oh no I couldn't! Marina you are so kind. I'm sure there's a hotel near. " Rose thought for a moment if she knew of any and couldn't. Biting her lower lip in worry, Rose thought where else she could stay where she wouldn't put her friends and family in danger.

Mac watched on as the two girls chattered back and forth. He knew when a human was lying, he had centuries of practice listening to themselves try and convince themselves of things. "My Lass, it may be best to listen to her. Go an be suaimhneach."

He stepped back just two steps, although it was enough to put some space between them. "Ar ya okay to travel about on yer own?" Mac tried to enunciate words, but when he felt women were in distress sometimes he couldn't articulate that.

" Marina you really are too kind."
As Mackenzie spoke Rose found herself fascinated by his accent, much more pronounced now, that she almost missed what he was actually saying.
" A suaimhneach? Ok, sure as long as it doesn't mean dead!"

When he asked if they were okay for them to travel on their own Rose accidently let her comment slip out, " Yeah armed with steaks and garlic! " As soon as she realized it her cheeks inflamed to a bright red and she changed the topic completely.
"Oh um it's getting darker, and Kale my bother said to be safe something about crazy people running around" Not a complete lie but Rose still felt a little bad over it.

Mac chuckled at her statement about stakes and garlic. "Lass, garlic doesn't work - just giver yer bad breathe." Stepping back another foot, Mac bowed slightly before righting himself. "Yer best be on yer way then...the crazies come out after dark... and suaimhneach means quiet er peacefully..."

"it was my pleasure to make both of yer acquaintances, but I should best be on my way also." Mac would make sure that the girls got to safely to the car before he would disappear into the treeline.

" Oh thank you! hope to see you around" And Rose meant it judging by the ass he had. She clutched her purse a little tighter knowing the pepper spray inside wouldn't kill a vampire but most certainly delay him long enough for her to run for the high heavens.
Seeing that the gentleman really wanted to leave Rose moved aside and allowed him enough room to pass by.
She still needed to visit her mother but today's visit would be a little shorter than usual.
