The Grease Trap

Blaze waved over the waitress to get the check - he knew it was getting late, and he had early shift at the herb shop in the morning. Once he paid the bill, he smiled to Lyna. He didn't want to rush her, so he leaned back and rested his arm on the booth back. What kind of flowers do you like? Glancing at the small arrangement that he had found at the drugstore, he wondered if she had a particular flower she liked.

"Daisies." Lyna stated with a smile. "They're simple and beautiful."

Duly noted. Once the waitress came back for the bill, he waved her off letting her know that it was all good. What time do you have to be at work tomorrow?

"Late morning/early afternoon. April is coming in the morning."

Blaze had forgotten that Marina had another assistant besides Lyna. How is April? Good I hope. Shifting a bit in his seat he continued.

I've got early shift tomorrow, Sage still isn't up to par, but she'll be coming in - I know she's chomping at the bit to do it too.

Lyna smiled. "She's good." She listened to him talk then nodded. "I cannot blame her."

Sage was always the overachiever - she made up for my underachieving ways. Blaze shrugged once again - he was the slacker in school, but he made it through.

Whenever you are ready, I'll be honored to walk you out.

"You're just different." Lyna smiled small at him. She sipped on her drink, finishing the last of it. "I guess, I'm ready."

Hmmm, different - that could be the kiss of death. Blaze winked at Lyna as he slid out of the booth.

Offering his hand to her, he would walk her out to make sure she got on her way. I have to thank you again for stopping to say hi to me. God only knows what I would be doing right now if you hadn't. More than likely he would have been at the local dive bar drinking himself into an almost stupor.

Lyna took his hand, walking with him. "I'm glad I stopped too." She almost had not. Being shy and all.

Once they made it outside, Blaze walked with her over to her car. Can you do me one favor? Text me when you get to your place. Yeah, I'm weird like that. He would wait until she left before he did the same, he just wanted to make sure that she got home safely.

"That's not weird. Its caring. Maybe chivalry is not completely dead." Lyna spoke softly. "I will do you that favor." She smiled up at him. "Goodnight, Blaze." She opened her car door.

Thank you, and good night. After she opened the door, Blaze held it until she got in, shutting it once she was settled. He backed up a few feet only to lean on his car. As she started her car, Blaze pulled his keys then gave Lyna a wave as she drove off.



Sighing, it only took Blaze a minute to get into his car and head for the cabin.

Bryn slid into the small booth that sat at the corner of the front window and perused the menu. Something greasy was definitely in order for dinner tonight.

Giving the waitress her order, Bryn's vision wandered out over the small park that wasn't far from the diner. Maybe after she finished up she would go for a walk.

While Shea awkwardly held his surprisingly warm hand in hers she felt an odd sense of comfort. Maybe it had something to do with the fact Shea trusted he could protect her from well anything or maybe it was more like she....No it couldn't....
Within no time they arrives at the Grease Trap and Shea was ready for some sloppy, greasy food.
" Well here we are.. uh I know your probably not use to this type of food- Wait can you even eat? " Shea realized she hadn't even thought of that sooner. A heavy blush engulfed her face at this thought.

Damon shook his head. "I cannot eat. But I can drink. It has no taste. Though alcohol does have a burn to it." He smiled down at her. "Do not be embarrassed."

" S-orr-y, it's just this is all so different. " The door to the diner opened and a two guest exited. The fragrance of food got Shea's stomach grumbling again.

"It is alright." Damon held the door open for her.

The manners were remarkable, Shea thought. When they entered the diner instead of getting a counter seat, Shea sat gracefully in a booth. The menus were already sitting there offering Shea exactly what she needed, well when it comes to food.
She glanced up at Damon, hardly noticing when he sat. He was silent with every move.
" Can I get you something? Water, Sprite? " The dolled up waitress asked them both.

" I'll take iced tea please. " Shea watched as the waitress, Nancy took down her order.
" And you sir? " The sexual appeal practically dripped off her words.

"Just water, thank you." Damon did notice the flirting; however, he ignored it. It happens. Vampires have a certain appeal. It draws some people in.

Shea felt irrelevant compared to the gorgeous waitress. .
Once she left, noted that her eyes still lingered on Damon, Shea spoke up.
" Is that normal for you? "

"Not normal, however, not uncommon." Damon admitted. "It is basic vampire appeal usually. I tend to ignore it."

Shea peered back over at the waitress who happen to still be fixated on Damon.
" Who can you just ignore that" Shea asked. Within moments the waitress returned with their drinks and as predicted she completely ignored Shea and practically drooled over Damon.

" It's so nice of you to take your little sister out! " She said belittling Shea.

"We are not related. She was kind enough to let me enjoy the pleasure of her company." Damon turned to look at the waitress, his expression clearly saying they wished to be left alone. It was not in his nature to show anger.

Shea smiled at the shocked expression which replaced the sultry one she wore.
Once she had ordered a pub burger and sweet potato fries, Nancy stormed off obviously dismissed.
Shea sat awkwardly watching Damon. She wasn't quite sure were to take it from here.
" So uh, can you read minds? " She asked curious to his abilities.
