The Grease Trap

Blaze watched and waited until she got into her car, it didn't take him long to leave right behind her. He did stop at the local butcher hoping that they had some kind of floral arrangement to give Lyna when he got to the diner.

Walking into the diner, he smiled to hind her there already. In A-typical male fashion he pulled out the arrangement and handed it too her - well then he shrugged before sliding into the booth across from her.

Lyna arrived at the diner and found a booth. She had not sat alone long before Blaze walked in. When he pulled flowers from behind his back, she blushed a soft shade of pink while taking them from him. She could not help but wonder exactly why he got the arrangement for her. However, she did not ask. "Thank you."

Pretty flowers for a pretty lady, and you're welcome. He smiled when the waitress came over, handing them both a menu, it didn't take Blaze but a few minutes to figure out what he wanted, he was curious to see what Lyna would get.

That made Lyna blushed a slightly brighter shade before the color disappeared. She looked at the menu, trying to decide on something that suited her. She decided on getting a baked potato complete with all the toppings, aside from bacon bits of course.

Blaze noticed Lyna's blush, and he smiled. Waiting until she ordered, Blaze then placed his order of mozzarella sticks along with a soda. When is the next night you have off? He had been mulling over the idea of asking Lyna out for a movie and maybe some dinner, really there was no time like the present.

Lyna smiled, curious as to why he was asking. "Day after tomorrow."

Would you maybe be interested in catching a movie? Blaze ran his hand through his hair as he smiled awkwardly at Lyna. He had no idea why he was suddenly nervous.

Lyna blushed a tad then nodded. "I would like that." She smiled at him.

The waitress brought their food and he smiled to her then looked to Lyna. Is there anything that you want to see? Blaze didn't know what was playing in the theaters.

Lyna tried to remember what movies were playing. "We could go to something like The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Or maybe action. Or comedy." She was unsure what he liked. "If you pick a genre, I'll find a movie that fits."

Blaze shrugged a little. I have no idea what's playing, so I'll go with whatever you pick.

Picking up a mozzarella stick, swirling it in the marinara sauce, and glance to her with another smile. Would you like to maybe get some dinner too?

"Alright." Lyna nodded. She then smiled. "That sounds good."

Blaze nodded in agreement. You surprise me with the movie and I'll surprise you with dinner. Sounds like a plan. He took a bite of his stick, munching on it thoughtfully for a few minutes, the washing it down with his drink. Want one? He pushed the basket closer to the middle of the table.

Lyna smiled. "Sounds like a good plan." She nodded. "Sure." She picked up one of the smaller mozzarella sticks. "Do you want some of mine?"

Blaze shook his head about having some of her. Nah, I'm good - thanks though. He couldn't believe how fast the afternoon and evening has seemed to go, it was a nice change of pace for him. That sat in comfortable silence while they ate, and he was okay with that.

Lyna nodded before eating the mozzarella stick she had gotten. She knew offering him a bite of her baked potato was a bit different then him offering a cheese stick, but she had offered anyway.

The silence was comfortable, but eventually she broke it with a question. And an odd one at that. "Can I see your phone?" It sounded odd, but all she wanted to do was type her number in.

Blaze grinned when she asked to see his phone. Sure thing. He was a gentleman after all, so he handed it over to her. He was pretty sure what she was going to do and he thought it was cute - usually it was him asking to see the girl's phone.

Lyna was not usually bold. Yes, asking for his phone was bold for her. But she did not want them to part ways before they exchanged numbers. It would leave her wondering.

It took a moment, but she entered her number. Then she found his and handed him the phone back before entering his number in her phone.

Taking his phone back, Blaze laughed a little. And how many times have you done that before? Of course he was teasing - he was pretty sure that Lyna had never done it. He flipped open his phone and scrolled through till he found hers and changed the ringtone. It fit at the moment, but it could change later down the road.

Lyna blushed a soft hue. "First time."

He reached out and touched her chin as he smiled. She worked the whole blushing thing too. I'm sorry that I seem to make you blush, it's very cute though.

Her blush did not deepen, and for that Lyna was thankful. "I can't help it." She softly admitted.

It's very endearing. Blaze returned his hand to the table and took a sip of his drink. Did you want anything else to eat or drink?

Lyna smiled. She was glad he did not mind her blushing, considering she blushed quite often. At his question, she shook her head. "No, I'm good."
