Rose's House

This wonderful Victorian style home was bought for Rose.

Rose opened the door to her new house. The fresh smell of lavender struck her.
" Home, Sweet Home. " She said while waving goodbye and goodnight to Kale. Used to his out all night dead all day schedule, so she adapted to the four a.m doors opening and the silent crash of Kale resting.

Walking upstairs to her bedroom, Rose changed for bed and set her alarm. Turning the t.v on Rose watched for a little before falling fast asleep.

Waking up to the sun shining, Rose yawned. She peered outside and smiled. The weather was beautiful. The sun was high, the sky was blue and it was just perfect. Rose called the shop informing Jake his services would not be needed today but he would still receive the payment for today at the end of the week. The weather was just too nice for Rose to waste away indoors.

Dressing in summer weather and her bathing suit underneath Rose quickly left a note for Kale and headed for the beach.

Kale sat with Rose watching her tea some warm tea. The redness from sunburn was beginning to peel on her nose.
" Rose shall we go out tonight? "

She stopped and thought for a moment.

" We haven't been to the pint lately and I could use some greasy food. "

Rye walked up to the front door of Rose's place and grinned. Wow, nice digs... Ringing the doorbell, she stepped back and waited for someone to answer. She adjusted the packages in her hands a little. Chocolate and flowers arranged carefully, the dish towels were the 'vase' that held them both, and a couple of pints of blood for Kale.

Kale heard the foot steps before the door bell rang, even before it was finished he held the door open to a very beautiful Riley.
" Well what a pleasant surprise milady. And what can we do for you this night? " Kale said escorting Riley into the house. Rose sat at the table, but when Riley crossed the threshold she stood to greet her.
" Riley! How nice of you to come! "

Grinning when Kale opened the door, Riley followed him inside. Heyya, Kale...I thought I'd bring some housewarming gifts to the new homeowners.

Not getting the chance to really look around, Rye smiled to Rose, offering up the 'flower' arrangement. I wasn't sure what to get, but I do know that dish towels always come in handy. She turned to Kale and handed him the six pack of blood. You're easy. Glancing around the room, Rye nodded a bit before looking back to Rose. Looks like Kale did alright for you.

" Yes he did, for a dead guy that is. Care for a drink Riley? " Rose said smiling at the flowers while searching for a vase.

" So now I'm easy" Kale said towards Riley while digging up a vase for Rose. " Here you go hunnie, and do sit down Riley have a drink. It's our turn to serve you for once. "

Rye chuckled at Kale's comment, but took him up on his offer of a seat. A soda will be fine, thanks.

Placing her purse on the table, she looked between the two. So what have you guys been up too? Oh and yes Kale, you are easy... A grin crept across her face.

Kale turned briefly to ponder as he observed Riley before walking back to the kitchen. When he returned he held a soda in one hand and napkins in the other.
" We have been cleaning, and cleaning and unpacking. I never knew a woman barely 130 pounds could hold so many personal objects. " Kale said laughing as Rose turned well rosy.

There's enough room here to hold them all though. Rye grinned as Kale put the drink in front of her. Thank you. You might want to get that beer in the fridge, it might be getting warm.

Glancing to Rose, Riley took a sip of her soda. How's the bookstore coming along?

" right away milady. " Kale said hurrying off into the kitchen.

" It has been interesting alright. Surprising enough there are a few who enjoy a good book which makes me proud. How has the club been? Rumor has it another opened up in town"

Fyn's back so I took a few days off - and he was happy to oblige. Rye smiled as she watche Kale take the 6 pack to the kitchen while she took a sip of her drink.

Cocking an eyebrow, Rye suddenly was curious. Another club? Really? Hmmm, can't have too many around here I guess. I'm not much of the club type - the bar is busy enough for me.

" Aren't you the least bit curious? " Kale said entering the room. "Rose has been non stop talk about checking it out. Perhaps a 'girls night? ' is that what it's called? Anyways you know what I mean. "
Rose sat and stirred her tea with a spoon. Her head was angled down and Kale walked up behind her. Subconsciously twirling her hair.

Rye shrugged a bit. I'd rather hang out someplace not so crowded. The bar is my limit. She glanced over to Rose and smiled. We could always try it out though.

" Perfect." Kale said
" Than perhaps I might steal Riley away for a bit ? " He asked standing next to Riley,looking with perceptive eyes.

Kale reached Rose's house and entered. Her place lay more than the usual mess. Books were scattered everywhere. Her clothes torn and thrown on the ground. As he walked into the living room everything was destroyed.
Fear consumed Kale for a moment as he charged up the stair until he heard a car in the driveway.
The moment Kale peered out the window to see Riley, he felt a pain in his back. Spinning with much difficulty Kale spotted a vampire. Holding the dagger currently residing in Kale.

" Fuck! " Anger now consumed Kale fully. Rage forced him to charge the male and for the first time in a long time Kale's fangs came out.

Before he had the chance to mutilate the man formally a thud from upstairs stopped in. Concerned it could be Rose in danger Kale rushed upstairs.

Riley pulled up into the driveway and stepped out of the car. She could see that the front door was hanging from it's hinges - and in that moment she was glad that she had called her backup. "A' you here?" She whispered...she had no idea why, since Vamps had killer hearing.

Creeping up the front steps, Rye grabbed a couple of the huge splinters that were once the door. She needed some kind of protection if indeed stuff was going down. Glancing up to the ceiling when she heard Kale scream and then a thud. "Awwww, crap..."

She felt the air stir behind her - but she knew exactly who it was. Anthony - her backup was here.

Anthony stood at the tree line when he saw Fyn's car pull up, and Rye was driving it. He was glad that he called her, he needed some action.

He snickered when he heard her ask if he was here yet - he was quite sure that all the Vamps were all alerted that she was here.

He silently moved up behind her and smiled. "Remind me never to piss you off." He nodded to the two foot stakes she had in each hand. "You know, don't wait for a catastrophe to call me - we used to be tight once, remember?" Anthony smiled to Rye as they walked into the house together.

There was noise coming from above, and right now Anthony was pretty sure that Rye was the only human in the house. "Let's see if we can take down some bad guys." He made sure that he protected Rye to the best of his abilities, which in his mind were pretty damn good.

Kale knew the moment they entered the house.
Riley whispered and judging by the hushed and lack of humanly scent another vamp was here with her.
Still Kale headed towards Rose's bedroom to ensure her safety. Yet when he walked through the door a growl escaped him.
Her room was a mess even worse than downstairs. Clothes lay scattered everywhere, her books tossed like trash and even the bed was torn to pieces. There were no traces of blood, which settled Kale's anger just a bit.

Riley tapped the side of her nose as she looked at Anthony, she hoped that he would get her drift and take a sniff to see if there were any other humans in the house but in the meantime she wanted to search the first floor to just to make sure.

Once she had walked into the kitchen, Rye turned to Anthony and yanked on his jacket she wanted to put it on, hoping that it would lessen her human smell. Whacking his chest when he made a lewd gesture - that was Anthony, a smartass in no matter what situation - she slipped it on when he shrugged it off and handed it to her.

Anthony watched Riley tap her nose and he already knew that there was no other humans in the house so he shook his head no - not that she saw it, Rye was to busy heading into the kitchen.

When she finally came to a stop, he watched her turn to him and pull on his jacket. He mouthed "Here? Now? You're kinky..." And with that he pumped his hips and arms (you know in that 'get it on' motion) before Rye thumped on his chest.

Slipping off his jacket, he held onto the stakes as Rye put on his jacket, grinning that he hung on her well actually. He handed back the stakes and shook his head once again both in dismay and admiration that she would go headlong into trouble for her friends.

Kale's phone went off slicing the silence with it's vibrations. He had to just read who it was from to breathe a sigh of relief.
He than spoke just loud enough for Anthony downstairs to hear and relay to Riley.
" Rose is safe. I'm going to find who did this. Please do not follow me Riley. " The concern in his voice showed vulnerability he wished wasn't expressed.

(For ease of posting - I'm kinda combined both Anthony and Riley together - it's mostly coming from Anthony's POV - I just don't feel like posting a separate post for Rye at the moment.)


Anthony looked up at the ceiling the moment he heard Kale. As he turned to look at Riley - she had a strange look on her face - okay confused was more like it - Anthony placed his hand on her arm.

"Rose is fine...and Kale has asked you not to follow him." His grip tightened just a bit when she tried to run towards the stairs, but Anthony wasn't going to let her go.

"Rye, you have no business dealing with his vamp crap." She tried to jerk away from him but with no avail. "Don't!" He pulled her to his chest, effectively pinning her to him. "Rye..."

Anthony was truly surprised what she did next. He had to let her go to remove the spike out of his shoulder. "Ouch..." Damn, for a human she was fast - she had already scurried past him and was half way up the stairs by the time he pulled the wood out of himself. "Rye! Riley!!! Kale, she's coming at ya!!!"
