History:
Alec was born of a human mother, Claire and a shifter father, Gadro. Her father wasn't just any shifter but the clan leader. When they fell deeply in love Gadro showed his precious love the truth about him. Instead of accepting his ways Claire rejected the shifting community and ran off claiming she didn't want to live with a bunch of animals. Gadro had let her leave unknowing she carried his child.
After Alec was born, her mother his the child from Gadro. They pratically disappeared for years. Until one night, when Alec was at the age of 6, an enemy clan wishing to conquer Gadro's land, discovered Alec and her mother. Thinking to use them as bait, the man send a letter containing a drop of thier blood. One sniff and Gadro knew it was his daughter. Rage influenced his rash actions as he charged towards them, unaccompanied by anyone.
The sight of his daughter had brought him to his knees, and fueled his urge for battle. And it was a cruel fight to the death. Claire could cover Alec's eyes but there was no hiding the howl of defeat as the enemy went down.
The relieve was short lived as Gadro was fatally wounded as well. With in his last moment, the clan showed up and howls of anguish echoed in the warehouse.
Due to Alec being female she was unable according to the clan's traditions to rule alone. She was paired with the strongest of the young males, Miles. Turns out they were mated.

All of this clan stuff was too much for Alec to handle so she ran. Ran from the clan and ran from her once childhood friend Miles.
